Nearly 40% of youth reported smoking daily (42% of boys and 36% of girls). The proportion of daily smokers among students is less than 30% while it is 45% among youth who have completed their studies and up to 51% for the unemployed and inactive.
The girls consume less alcohol than boys: 36% say they do not drink at all, against 19% of boys. Unlike tobacco, it is the students who consume the most alcohol.
40% of those surveyed reported having experienced at least one serious health problem in the previous five years. Accidents (domestic, traffic, sports, work…) concern about one in five young people, boys twice as often as girls.
